Inverters
Inverters Inverters convert DC electricity that is stored in batteries to AC electricity that is used in common household appliances. Products range in size from 50 watts to 5.5 kW and above. Larger inverters can be stacked together to produce double their rated capacity and 3-Wire 220 VAC. There is no upper limit to the size of inverters.
Imagine being able to run any appliance you wish at the flick of a switch. For those that have been used to running a fossil-fuel generator if they want to produce AC electricity, an inverter can be a welcome addition to your home or office. Imagine, quiet AC power when you need it.
An inverter and battery subsystem is often a starting point for those accustomed to a generator. With this system, generator run time is minimized by using the generator more efficiently. Substantial savings can be realized by large-scale systems, such as found in locations that run large diesel generators 24h per day. Sophisticated controls will switch between generator and inverter power, so that generators are only run when required.
