Sheila Behnke – Ontario March of Dimes
"Ontario March of Dimes is thrilled with the support we are receiving from QuickContractors.com. QuickContractors and its President, Trevor Bouchard, are assisting Ontario March of Dimes to develop and promote a brand new Sensitivity and Awareness workshop tailored to the needs of independent contractors. This workshop will increase contractors' expertise in meeting the needs of the one in six Canadians who have various types of disabilities.
QuickContractors has sponsored advertising that is raising community awareness of the many services Ontario March of Dimes provides for people with disabilities and is helping to raise funds to make these services available. QuickContractors President, Trevor Bouchard's, commitment to helping create a society inclusive of people with disabilities will make a huge positive difference in the lives of many people."
About Ontario March of Dimes
Ontario March of Dimes draws on more than 50 years of experience to serve people with physical disabilities of all ages. We are the largest rehabilitation organization in Ontario, providing a variety of programs and services to almost 37,000 people annually in 70 communities across the province.
We serve the public:
- As a charitable organization, by both funding programs and administering government-funded programs that provide essential support, such as job placement services, assistive devices and home and vehicle modifications;
- By providing important fee-for-service programs to consumers, such as attendant care, specialized education/rehabilitation classes, recreational and social activities and peer-to-peer support networks;
- As a supplier to Ontario’s business community through our Rehabilitation and Corporate Services division. We provide employers, health insurers and other industry partners with advanced employee and client care, including assessment services and sensitivity and awareness training;
As an advocate for equality and full participation in society for people with disabilities, by monitoring legislation, preparing briefs, and participating in consultations on proposed legislation.
OMOD has approximately 1600 staff across the province and enjoys the support of more than 18,000 volunteers, active in governance, fundraising and administration.
